Palaces of Cairo:  a 1-day add-on for the standard arrival day (Day 1)
This tour will give you the chance to visit two important and beautiful palaces in Cairo.
After breakfast you will start your day at the Baron Empain Palace, which was opened to the public in 2020 after two years of renovation. The Baron Palace, constructed in 1911 by the Belgian architect who built Paris’s metro, is located in the wealthy Heliopolis district of Cairo. After a tour of the ornate residence, you will enjoy lunch at one of the best restaurants in downtown Cairo, followed by a walk in a downtown market to experience the local life of an Egyptian.
Next, you will visit the Manial Palace and Museum, which is one of the most distinctive and breathtaking palaces of the Alawiyya dynasty (19th and 20th centuries). It was built between 1899 and 1929 by Prince Mohammed Ali Tewfik, who was the uncle of King Farouk.
At the end of the day you will get to enjoy some recreational time at one of the most luxurious cities in Egypt, Sheikh Zayed City at Giza. A short walk will show you how modern Egypt is, and you’ll then enjoy drink at an open-air restaurant to make the most of the beautiful weather. The add-ons price does not include an extra night’s accommodation.
